Porini Rhino Camp is located in Ol Pejeta Conservancy a 90,000 acre wildlife conservancy situated between the foot hills of the Aberdares and the magnificent snowcapped Mount Kenya.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy boasts an astounding variety of animals including all the “Big Five” (the endangered black rhino, leopard, elephant, buffalo and lion) as well a sanctuary for rescued chimpanzees and also incorporates the smaller Sweetwaters Game Reserve.

The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plains of Ol Pejeta guarantees an unforgettable safari experience. Ol Pejeta Conservancy has a large area of over 60,000 acres reserved exclusively for 4x4 safari vehicles and small exclusive eco-camps.

Porini Rhino Camp is hidden in a secluded valley and set amongst shady acacia trees on the banks of a seasonal river. The camp consists of six spacious guest tents, each comfortably furnished with en suite bathrooms. The camp is very environmentally-friendly with solar powered lighting and no generator. Game drives are taken in the camp’s 4x4 safari vehicles with qualified safari guides. Guided walks are taken on the open plains escorted by Maasai warriors. Night drives are also taken to see the nocturnal animals. All the Big Five have been seen on game drives from the camp.

Itinerary:

Duration: 2 nights/3 days

Day 1

Fly to Nanyuki from Nairobiís Wilson Airport, arriving approx. 12.40pm. Met at the airstrip by your Porini driver and transfer to Porini Rhino Camp in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Enjoy lunch and afternoon tea in camp and then take an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 2

A full day in Ol Pejeta Conservancy with game drives and an escorted walk from camp. After dinner take a night game drive in search of the areaís nocturnal animals. Overnight at camp.

Day 3

Transfer from camp to Nanyuki airstrip for the flight back to Nairobi (or on to the Mara).

PORINI RHINO CAMP, 2 NIGHTS FLYING PACKAGE (OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY, LAIKIPIA): PRICES IN US$

Prices include: At Wilson Airport, board schedule flight to Nanyuki Airstrip, met and transferred to Porini Rhino Camp for 2 nights on full board basis including soft drinks, beer, house wine, gin & tonic, mineral water, return conservancy airstrip transfers, daily Ol Pejeta Conservancy fees, day & night shared game drives in open sided 4x4 safari vehicle with qualified guide, sundowners, visit to Chimpanzee Sanctuary, then last day fly back to Wilson Airport.

Child rates applicable for 08 – 16 year olds:

1 child sharing with 2 adults, child pays child package price above while the 2 adults pay per adult sharing rate.

1 child sharing with 1 adult, child pays child package price above while the 1 adult pays single adult rate.

2 or 3 children sharing in own tent, each child pays 75% of per adult rate. Child under 8 years not recommended.

Exclusive vehicle use:

Sole use of the open sided 4x4 safari vehicle during game drive US$ 375 per vehicle per day.

Christmas & New Year supplement:

On 24, 25, 26, 31 Dec 2013 & 01 Jan 2014 is US$ 40 per person per night.

Late afternoon departure:

Late departure after 12h00 US$ 125 per person minimum 2 pax (includes lunch, soft drinks and activities before departure in the late afternoon).

Visit to Endangered Species Boma:

US $15 per person for 3 or more people, or a total fee of $35 is charged for 1 or 2 people. All funds raised go directly towards the care of the four Northern White Rhinos. Travel agents please note these entry tickets are currently non-commissionable.
