Porini Maasai Safari

This 5 night recommended Safari combines two properties that complement each other perfectly - Amboseli Porini Camp in the 'private' Selenkay Conservancy and Mara Porini Camp in the private Ol Kinyei conservancy, part of the famous Masai Mara ecosystem.

Both Safari camps are small and exclusive and run on the same principles - working closely with the local communities.

Duration: 5 nights / 6 days, Daily Departures
Itinerary:
Day 1
Depart Nairobi and drive south to Selenkay Conservation Area (a 4 hour journey of 102 miles), arriving at Porini Camp before lunch. Following afternoon tea, you will be escorted on a walk by Maasai warriors to a village to get an insight into their fascinating culture and way of life. Return to camp for a shower, dinner and overnight.
Day 2
Awake to the noisy calls of the birds. After an early breakfast, we drive through the bush on our private track into Amboseli National Park, for a full morning of game viewing. Following a picnic lunch in the park, we return to Porini Camp later in the afternoon. In the evening you will go on a game drive in Selenkay Conservancy, stopping for a sundowner at a scenic viewpoint, followed by a night game drive to look for nocturnal animals such as aardvarks, serval cats, caracals, bat-eared foxes, African wild cats, and other species. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Awake to the natural sounds and calls of the local birdlife. After breakfast transfer to Nairobi for lunch at the famous Carnivore Restaurent. Then transfer to Wilson Airport for the afternoon flight to the Mara, arriving around 15,45.

Transfer to Mara Porini Camp. Afternoon game drive, followed by a sundowner and night game drive on the way back to Camp. Dinner and overnight Mara Porini Camp.

Day 4
*Optional Balloon Safari and Champange Breakfast.
A full day in the Masai Mara with game drives in 4x4 vehicles. Overnight and full board accommodation at Mara Porini Camp.
Day 5
Game drives in 4x4 vehicles within the game rich Mara ecosystem followed by a sundowner. Overnight and full board accommodation at Porini Camp.
Day 6
Early morning walk in the Conservancy with Maasai warriors, followed by breakfast.

Then transfer mid-morning to the airstrip for the flight back to Nairobi, arriving around 12.15 pm

MAASAI SAFARI (SELENKAY CONSERVANCY, AMBOSELI & OL KINYEI CONSERVANCY, MASAI MARA): PRICES IN US$ RACK

Prices include: Pick up in Nairobi then road transfer to Amboseli, 2 nights in Porini Amboseli Camp with daily Selenkay Conservancy fees and one day Amboseli National Park entrance fee, Maasai village visit then afterwards check out and fly to Wilson Airport where you will connect to another schedule flight to Siana Airstrip, met and transferred to Porini Mara Camp for 2 nights with daily Ol Kinyei & Naboisho Conservancy fees and one day Masai Mara Game Reserve entrance fee, both camps are based on full board basis including soft drinks, beer, house wine, gin & tonic, mineral water, return airstrip transfers, day & night shared game drives in open sided 4x4 safari vehicle with qualified guide, sundowners, walks with Maasai warriors, then last day fly back to Wilson Airport.

Child rates applicable for 08 – 16 year olds:

1 child sharing with 2 adults, child pays child package price above while the 2 adults pay per adult sharing rate.

1 child sharing with 1 adult, child pays child package price above while the 1 adult pays single adult rate.

2 or 3 children sharing in own tent, each child pays 75% of per adult rate. Child under 8 years not recommended.

Exclusive vehicle use:

Sole use of the open sided 4x4 safari vehicle during game drive US$ 375 per vehicle per day.

Christmas & new year supplement:

On 24, 25, 26, 31 Dec 2012 & 01 Jan 2013 is US$ 40 per person per night.

Late afternoon departure:

Late departure after 12h00 US$ 125 per person minimum 2 pax (includes lunch, soft drinks and activities before departure in the late afternoon).

Flight supplements:

2013:

Scheduled flight to Amboseli airstrip: For flying from Nairobi to Amboseli US$ 215 per adult return fare & US$ 150 per child (02 – 12 years) return fare OR US$ 140 per adult one way & US$ 100 per child (02 – 12 years) one way.

Direct special charter flight to Selenkay: From 20th December 2012 to 31st March 2013 & from 01st July 2013 to 31st October 2013 we will offer daily charter flights with minimum 2 pax between Nairobi, Wilson Airport and Amboseli, Selenkay Airstrip which is very close to Porini Amboseli Camp & Selenkay Adventure Camp. The supplement will be the same as if using schedule flight as provided above. The charter flight is only 35 minutes departing Nairobi, Wilson Airport at 08h00 and arriving Amboseli, Selenkay Airstrip at 08h35. (Vehicle transfer from Selenkay airstrip to Porini Amboseli Camp or Selenkay Adventure Camp is free of charge).

Extra night rate:For every 2 or 3 night stay one visit into Masai Mara National Reserve is included. Any extra visit into the reserve must pay US $ 80 per person per day on top of above rates.
